A draft variant of the constituent position change below was sent to U.S. Congressman Kenny Marchant of Texas yesterday and inserted today into the home page linked in the title above:
.
At one point, this bully pulpit was opposed to the production of Bio-fuel from corn. The argument was that it was definitely driving up the price of gasoline additives in the form of alcohol and as a result of the competition for the product, would drive up the price of food.
~
However, after years of study of this problem we have obtained a reversal position on corn for Bio-fuel, after finding out that High Fructose Corn Sugar is directly linked to Type 2 Diabetes. High sugar content is also prefered when distilling alcohol - as any moonshiner knows. Thus the focus on highly sweet corn for making alcohol AND food.
~
We are now encouraging our political representatives to get behind the energy policy to increase mandating the subsidization of more production of corn for Bio-fuel in order to drive the price of corn up too high to use as cattle fodder and sweetener in foods and beverages.

Reference: You should see: KING CORN the documentary for one of many primers on this problem; go to http://www.neflix.com/ and log in as a new user using the code Friend22 if you do not have an account. You can watch it as a streaming video on your PC if you have a broadband Internet connection. The documentary movie is about two young college undergrads working on their degree in media production who get funding to lease one acre of ground to plant and grow corn and their discoveries of what it takes to grow, market and refine corn and distribute it into the American Marketplace to end consumers such as cattle feedlots and as food and beverage products for individuals. Their findings are priceless and surprising and sobering beyond measure.
